Northwestern University’s business and finance division is proud to announce the promotions of three outstanding individuals who have shown dedication and expertise in advancing the institution’s financial initiatives.
Daniel Durack, who has been with the Office of Budget and Planning since 2015, has been promoted to senior associate vice president for budget and planning. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, Durack has been instrumental in steering Northwestern’s long-range planning and budget endeavors. His promotion reflects his exceptional contributions and leadership in ensuring that the University’s financial resources are aligned with its strategic priorities.
Nicole Van Laan, who has served as Northwestern’s controller for the past eight years, has now been promoted to assistant vice president for finance. With a background in auditing at Deloitte, Van Laan brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. She will be leading critical financial units within the division, driving efficient and effective financial reporting and operations for the University.
DeBorah Krueger, with 25 years of experience in various facets of Northwestern’s operations, has been promoted to executive director of finance and administration. In this newly established role, Krueger will serve as the chief of staff to Amanda Distel, vice president and chief financial officer, while also overseeing the business operations within the division. Her strategic foresight and in-depth knowledge of the University’s financial functions will undoubtedly lead the division towards excellence.
